Water Paints

Watercolor paint is a type of paint that is made by mixing pigments with a water-soluble binder, such as gum arabic. Because the binder is water-soluble, watercolor paints are easy to mix and blend, and the finished paintings have a unique, transparent quality. They can be applied to a variety of surfaces, including paper, canvas, and board, and are commonly used for landscape and portrait painting, as well as illustration and calligraphy. Watercolor paints come in a variety of forms, including tubes, pans, and liquid concentrates, and can be applied using a brush, pen, or airbrush.
